Bleu Cheese Salad Dressing
Ingredients One pint sour cream One cup mayonnaise One small clove garlic, freshly cut or mashed One-fourth cup crumbled bleu cheese Freshly ground pepper---several twists of the pepper mill (or as much as you wish) A small amount of milk for spreading consistency
Directions In a small bowl or blender mix together the first four ingredients. Add a small amount of milk to make the dressing the consistency you desire. Next add pepper to taste.
We like our bleu cheese dressing somewhat thick, so I put in very little milk If you like your dressing less thick, add more milk. Be sure to add a little at a time. Also, if you don?t like to see black pepper in your white dressing, substitute it for white ground pepper.
Naturally, you may make any changes in this recipe to suit your individual taste or needs (e.g. lite mayonnaise or sour cream; more bleu cheese; less bleu cheese, etc).
Notes I love salads, but I am not very fond of most commercial salad dressings. I have a few of my own, which I have enjoyed over the years. In the past, I have shared with you my French-Russian salad dressing. Many of you have told me you really like this dressing, and you have added it to your own recipe collection. Great! This month I have a very simple bleu cheese dressing for you.
